Cepheid – Chapter 2

Cepheid was just waking up, it was only 11:35am. For him, that’s too early for him. Cepheid live in Croatoa, North of Salamanca town, in the forest of The Grim Vale. Cepheid got out of his bed, walked ten steps to his kitchen, made a cup of coffee, and sat at his hand made wooded chair and table, just drinking his coffee and looking at his small cabin.

After his nice, smooth cup of coffee, he went outside with nothing but a towel on him, he walked too the river and bathed himself, seeing little harmless Sally swimming around. He tried to hide myself while a group of Cabel witches passed by. He then with his towel, slapped it on and walked back to his cabin to put on his tights and to get to work. His J.S. radio beeped loudly on his side-table, he picked it up and said rudely “Ya? What do you want?” his contacted answered “Morning Ceph, we have a little mission for you in Faultine, the Arachnos group are up to something but we don’t know what, your mission is to go to Faultline and try to get some information on their little plan.”

“Ok, I’ll be right there, Azula.” Cepheid hanged up the radio, put it back on the table so he can get is heavy protected armor on. He then clicked a button on his left lower leg, an item holder opened, he picked up his radio and put it in.

Cepheid walked out of his cabin, about 20 feet away a group of witches were fighting a group of Fire Blog , oh well, nothing out of the ordinary. Cepheid super speeded himself to Salamanca town and to the Trans system. He hopped into the Trans to Skyway City. A group of children and old ladies were just looking at him for the whole ride. An old lady started poking him, “Why didn’t you help me yesterday!? I was robbed and you just ran passed me!” she said. “Lady, I don’t even know and I didn’t go heroing yesterday.” The old lady just poked him harder and then started to hit him. “Lady, if you don’t stop poking me, I’ll brake that finger in half.” Everyone looked RIGHT at him, the old lady’s face just turned white as a ghost, got up and disappeared into the crowd.

Cepheid reached Skyway City, past downtown Skyway, past Faultline St., and then into Faultline. He reached Faultline finally, and again, zipped past the donut shop, while some fat PPD’s were eating, past the still broken part of the city and then got to the port. He stopped, looked around the very brown water and spotted a big group of Arachnos battling some Longbow which were trying to protect the flood dam.

Cepheid ran into the fighting groups in a second, he drew his 10 foot long Japanese katana from it’s case and started chopping down the Arachnos thugs. He managed to spear one of them, you know, for interrogation. “What’s all this now, eh?” “…That voice, I know it, it’s Agent G.” I said to myself. “Well Agent, long time no see, I was just helping your men with this group, but I need one of them for something.” “Something? –He said- what do you mean?” “Well Agent, I’m on a mission looking for some clues, the Arachnos are up to something fishy but we don’t know what, that’s why I need him.”  Agent quickly replied, “Need help with that, Cep? We got a temporary HQ here in Faultline, right over there.” He pointed to the big steel looking house, right next to the Dam entrance.

“Fine G, let’s go.” Cepheid followed Agent G into the house, I had hand-cuffed the Arachnos soldier, pushing him into the dark, cold, steel interrogation room. As normal, a metal table, 2 metal chairs, bolted into the ground, a two way mirror and some flies on the table. “So, “Mr. Arachnos Guy”, I’ll go easy on you, tell me what you know and we wouldn’t have to stay here for 3 more hours, I really don’t want to.” The Arachnos soldier just looked at me with a very serious look. “Ok then, the hard way –Ceph laughed- lets do this then.”

He took off his metal armor gloves, took off his katana while it was still in it’s case and put it in the corner of the room. Cepheid clicked a button on his right lower leg, a gun holder popped out and he took out his one foot long revolver. He opened the chamber and put in only one bullet, then placed it on the table.

“Ever heard of Russian roulette?” Cep asked, with a evil smile on his face, from ear to ear. “Are you serious!?” asked the soldier, looking at the crazed hero with a scared look on his ugly mug. “Ya, so what? Here, I’ll go first!!” Cepheid put the gun to his temple; he clicked the trigger, looking right into the eyes of the soldier.
*click*    “Looks like it’s your turn now!” The soldier declined, giving Cepheid a very rude comment. “Ok then, have it your way.” Cepheid walked over to the soldier, he took the gun, put it on his temple. “No, please don’t!” Shouted the soldier, Cepheid then said “You have one more chance, boy!”

A long pause filled the room, nothing but silence…”Ok boy,  your turn now!” Cepheid clicked the trigger of the gun.

*BANG*

The soldier shouted, and started crying with his head hitting the table in a second. “Hehehe, it was a blank, now that you know that I mean business, wanna start talking?” I asked.

“OK OK! I’ll start talking; can I have a smoke first?” – “Why the hell not, here.” Cepheid slapped a pack of smokes on the table and then passed it over. The soldier opened the 12-pack, got a long one, lit it and then sucked in a big puff of smoke and puffed it out.

“Ok then, we’re up to something very important, I don’t know what exactly because it’s only for High leveled Arachnos Ops., all I know is for us low level Arachnos is to do whatever they tell us to do. –He paused, sucking in another puff of smoke and blowing it out. “So far, us soldiers have to just fight off the Longbow from the Dam and all I know is that this thing is called “Operation Omega” and it’s going to go down soon.”
The second chapter of my story, 4 pages long and enjoy it!
