Chapter 4

I thought slowly to myself. “Something’s not right, that explosion on the roof can’t have caused the building to explode,  it just does not make sense.” While I turned off the TV, I walked slowly into my office, and sat down by my desk. “I need to know what was on these computers…”

After thinking about it for a moment, I had to go back to the building. Once again, I put on my tights, and this time decided to go out from the roof. After super-jumping from roof to roof, of almost every building in Steel, I reached to the Vanguard office, showed my I.D. again and teleported to the Rikti War Zone.

Super-speeding my way to the building, I was trying not to get spotted by the press. I jumped through a 12 floor window. I was working my way to the 36th floor, by using the burnt, almost broken stair way. After exactly 2.34 minutes later, I reached the server, console room. The consoles where burnt, with the screens broken and the keyboards were barely noticeable. I reached over to the server “tower”, bent over. I turned it around, carefully and reached over to my belt, and took out a small device with a little screen, keyboard and plug.

“Lucky that I’m a technology origin.” Laughing a bit, I took out the plug from the silver, little device, and plugged it into the “tower”.

Looking at the “0’s and 1’s” passing through the screen, I pressed the -Decode- button. Those “0’s and 1’s” know turned into letters, phrases and sentences. Unfortunately, the device took only translate some data.

*Number 6, number 10*
*…bank…* *McColm*
*Paragon City!*

“Wow, weird…” I said to myself. “I need to get back to my office.”

26 minutes later, I reached my apartment, jumping get into the window. I walked quickly into my office, sat down, and ironically I searched the web.

Typing in McColm Bank, I found something. “Name: McColm Bank. Location: Chicago, Owner: Alejandro McColm, age 46, born in Basin City.”

“Ok, I got a picture now, but what does McColm Bank have to do with anything? Wait? Did Sooner said today or tomorrow?”

I called Sooner on my transmitter, asking her if it’s tomorrow or today. “It’s today Cap, why do you ask?”

“Because Sooner, I got a new case to investigate, I’m going to Chicago!”

Chapter 5

“….Ok Cap, thanks anyway.”
“No prob…” At that moment, she had hanged up on me.

“Well, that sucks.” Making my way to my bedroom, I took out a suitcase, filled it up with some clothes, a suit and tie, and my tights. I had a quick sandwich in the kitchen, got my keys and left my apartment. I walked down to the elevator, pressed the bottom and went into it when my arrived.

Walking out into the lobby, waving at the door man and waved for a taxi. I got into the yellow/black and white striped taxi, and told the taxi driver to take me to the Skyway City International Airport. 47 minutes later and 57 bucks, I walked into the white marble airport, carrying my brown and black suitcase.

“Welcome, how may I help you?” Said the ticket sells woman.
“ Hello, I need a ticket to Chicago, the soonest the have..”

She started to type into the computer keyboard, the reflection of the blue screen in her eyes. “Ok Sir, we have a flight right now, but I need to see your passport and some ID”

I practically threw my Passport/ID at her. She checked it fast and then gave me a ticket, I paid her after. I ran as fast as I can to Gate #23. Ironically at the end of the terminal.

Fortunately, there was no line, so when I reached, I gave the boarding pass to the gate officer, and getting it back, I ran into the plane.

A woman showed me to my seat, only now just finding out that I paid for a 1st class seat. I personally like 1st class but it’s too much money in with city.

“Welcome to Air Paragon, this is your Captain speaking, we will be flying at a height of 35,000 fleet, the flight will be 2 hours exact, if we have good weather today. Please enjoy your flight, on Air Paragon!”

“I guess I can just sit back and relax. Remember, this is not Paragon, so no super powers” I thought.

After take off, I took out a newspaper from the seat pocket and opened it. Head line: “State Senate, Michael Rowling, was assassinated yesterday in his Election parade. A sniper shot to the back of the head while he was waving in his open limo.”

“Oh my, that’s horrible … kind of weird for that to happen. These types of things never happen in Paragon City!”

*Bing* “This is your Captain speaking, we will be leading in 15 minutes, in the beautiful city of Chicago, enjoy your stay.”

At that very moment, I woke up, with the newspaper over my face, and on my chest. Wiping the spit off of my mouth, I stood up, put the napkin back into my pocket and walked, tiredly to the rest room. I tried first to open it but, stupid idly, it didn’t cross my mind to check the door sign first. It said “Occupied” so I decided to walk back to my seat and wait for the plane to land.

After 19 minutes and a cup of Ginger Ale later, the plane had landed, hard and roughly, and I was walking out of the plane into the terminal. After waiting 25 useless, silly minutes for my brown and black suitcase, I walked quickly out of the Airport and into a white cab, “Good day, can you take me to The Mary Rose hotel please?” I said, he reply by saying “Ya, sure..”

After a long ride and some traffic later, I was walking out into the street, by the large, stone white hotel. I paid the man, walked into the hotel, giving a generous $25 bucks to the door man, and a salute. I walked with my brown and black suitcase to the brown, oak made desk. A hotel worker was typing on his apple computer, “Good day, how are you?” “Oh, excuse me sir, good day, how may I help you?” He said. “I would like a room please, hopefully on the 30th floor.” He started to type into the computer, with a white screen reflection in his eyes. “OK sir, luckily for you, a room just opened up about 10 minutes ago, it has..” I stopped him in that very moment; “Don’t worry, I don’t need to know how the room is, how much does it cost.” He turned to his computer again and back to me quickly. “It’s $450 dollars, weekly.”

“The price seems ok to me, personally.” I passed my Visa card to the desk hotel worker. He passed it though a machine, and typed in the bar code numbers into his computer.”

“Name, sir?”
-“Name? Oh, mine, haha, Adrian, Adrian O’Brien.”
Once again, he turned to his computer, typing in my name into a forum, from what I saw.

“OK Mr. OBrien, here is your 2 card keys, if you need anything just call #499 and ask for anything you need.”
”Thank you again.” I smiled at him, and put $100 dollars into the tip gar.

Putting a 100, crazy eh? I found him kind, helpful and a hard worker, I just hope no one robs that 100. I walked with my brown and black suitcase to the elevator; the hotel was filled with suits and workers. I walked into the elevator that was decorated very well, glass, a red rug, and, again, suits.

I pressed the 30th floor, but after 10 seconds it didn’t work. “Excuse me, sir...” the woman in the elevator said; “The room card activates the elevator, it’s floor-only, you need to pass it through the swipper.” –“Oh, the worker at the desk didn’t tell me, thank you.” Felling really stupid about not knowing that, and for giving him a 100, I swiped the card through, and it automatically closed and started to go up.

When it reached my floor, I walked out quickly, felling embarrassed about what happened, and looked at my card key. “Room 3003, eh?” I walked down the hall, and reached the door. I swiped the card into the key-card reader and it showed a green light. I pushed it open, walked in, closed it and walked down a not so long hall, turned left and into the bedroom. “This will do, this will do very well.” With a smirk on my face, I put the brown and black suitcase onto the bed and opened it, taking out a white dress shirt, a bright red tie with thick dark red stripes, a pin-striped suit and pants, brown dress shoes, a Rolex and a black belt.

About 15 minutes later, I changed into the suit, put the key-card into my jacket pocket, a cell phone I bought in the airport and walked out into the hall and into the elevator. I waited while the elevator went down, giving my meetings to a old woman with her white puddle, she didn’t even reply, it was like getting a kick in the nuts.

3:37pm, my watch said, after I took a glance at it. I held my hand up in the windy, cold streets, calling for a cab. After having to walk down the street just to get a cab in the busy city, I got into one, saying “McColm bank, please.” “Ok, no problem.”

Chapter 6

The taxi driver, after waiting in traffic for 34 minutes, took me to this bank. I paid him the amount he needed and walked out.

I took a good, long look at the bank, and at the big letters saying “McColm Bank”. I walked into the bank, walking straight into the line, it was just one woman. I over headed “Come back anytime, miss.” I walk to the desk as soon as the tall, white skinned woman walked over to her right, “Welcome sir, how may I help you?” –“Hello, I would like to see Mr. McColm.”

The worker just looked at me for a short moment, with confusion in his eyes. “Sir, do you even have an appointment?” –“No, but I need to see him.” He retorted by saying; “Sir, if you do not have an appointment, you may not see him, those are his orders, if you need to see him, you will need to make an appointment, which will, with luck, only take about 3 to 4 months.”

I got a little upset at first, but then I remember my training and cooled off. “Thank you again.” “Anytime sir, please come again.”
I walked out of the line, letting the old-aged adult behind me pass. I walked over to the exit, looking like if I was exiting, but I quickly ran into the Security door, closing it fast after me.

“Ok, good thing I took this.” I took out a device from my pants pocket; it was a device I made along time ago, only trying it out in the field for the first time. The room had a set of computers, showing video feed, a desk with a chair, and some lockers, only 3. I tried opening the 1st locker, but it was locked. I then tried to open the 2nd locker, but no luck, it was stuck. The last locker was my last chance, if it didn’t open, I would need an appointment. Taking a breath, and trying it, it opened and by only pure luck, there was a security officer uniform.

I took my device, pointed it at the uniform, after taking it out and placing it on the floor. A pressed the “Scan” button on the device, and a blue light came out of the tip of the device, it was scanning very detail of the uniform. From its colour and the last thread. Quickly putting back the uniform, I pressed and check the device if it fully scanned. It read *Scan complete, ready to active.” I pressed the device and pointed at my torso. The blue light flash at it, moving from up and down, and ta-da, it worked. A fake coating of the uniform shun off my body, my full body, from the front, to the back.

I pressed the device again, and selected an item on it. Again, I pointed the device at my face, the blue light flashed, from down and up, on my face. My eyes turned green, my hair; brown and shorter, my skin became paler and a mustache.

Looking like a security officer, I walked over to the desk, after putting the device back into my pants, and took a key-card, a 9mm gun with one magazine, a knight stick and the belt that it was all connected to, putting it around me.

I walked out of the very sad and plain room and into the lobby again. Trying not to look at the desk worker, I walked down the hall to the silver elevator. Entering it, I pressed to go to the 2nd floor… All of a sudden, a strong looking hand stopped the elevator. “Hey, you know that all security staff can only use the service elevator!” I looked at him, scared and surprised, and walked out quickly of the elevator, walking quickly passed him, and the desk worker, to the security room. “Wow! That was very, very NOT smooth….Oh, he was right, there is a service elevator in here, how the hell did I miss that?”

I walked into it, passing the card through the reader, this time, and pressed to go to the 2nd floor. For waiting awhile, I walked out into the very long hall. From what I saw was a long hall, with 2 doors on the right side, 4 columns on the left side, and to my straight right were stairs to the 1st and 2nd floor, and to the roof. I walked down to the first door. I opened it slowly and looked in; there were a lot of file cabinets, and a computer.

I moved quickly to the computer, turned it on and waited 2 minutes for it to load up and be useable. It was a very simple computer, only reading on the left side of the screen; “Trash, Internet Explorer, Search, Poker, files and START.” Without wasting anytime, I pressed on Files, it opened and I looked for “Recently Viewed”. I pressed on it, after I finished looking for it and finding it, and it read; “New Log; To Mr. McColm
                                                               Form; Account Manager

“Mr. McColm,
Alfonso here, from Accounting, we recently received the amount of money that you informed us on.

Amount: $60,500,000 US
From: Unknown
Received: Today

We just wanted to inform you on your recently received amount. Good day,
                                Alfonso O.

“Today? Wait, it makes sense now, today there was a bank robbery in Paragon! But that means Sooner’s informer was wrong…”

I clicked on “Internet Explorer” and search “Paragon City News”, the website popped up and I clicked on it. It said “Thugs rob Atlas!”

I looked only at the short-report; “Thugs rob Atlas Park bank, the amount was $60,500,000. This will be a great, huge problem for the bank and it’s workers….”

“You gotta be shitting me, no way….not very smart of the this banker, I mean, any cop can just search this and the amount the bank got, and put 2 & 2 together.”

I turned off the computer, and walked out of the room. I slowly walked to the other room, opening it, walking in and closing it. There was a big glass window looking into the other room, from what I saw was a fat looking man, with white hair, glasses and a suit, he was shouting into the phone; “How come you put the money here?! Any bullshit cop can find out! The FBI has been on my ass for 2 months now, do you want to destroy everything we work for!? …. I understand, I’ll do it now, before the end of the day.”

Over hearing the conversation, I, without a doubt, reacted with angry and fury. Not bothering to go through the door, I just ran straight into the glass! It broke, and I was cut, but that’s not a problem for a regenerator. I took out the 9mm and pointed at him. “Who are you!?” “Shut up! Why did you rob the Atlas Park bank?!!” “How do you know that?” –“I saw the email, the log, you were right; any stupid bullshit cop CAN find out, I’m with the PPD.”

He froze, staying still, with the look of surprise and shock in his eyes, but then he was relaxed. “You stupid ass, you’re way over your head, you have no idea what’s happening here, or in your bullshit city.” At that moment, he ran to the desk on his left, doing a spin and kneeing at the same time, he then pressed a little red device that was under his desk.

*Wooooooh, wooooh, woooh*

The alarm sounded, it was loud, annoying and everywhere. “Better get going, coppy, my guards will be here soon, hehehe…”

In that moment, I saw in the other room that a group of thug looking men entered, with 9mm’s and a shotgun, these guys were not professionals, nor security. I turned to the opposite wall, facing McColm and shot the biggest Dark Blast at it, not hitting him, only the wall. It made a big enough hole for me to pass through into the other room. “What the hell…? Stop him! We need him!!”

I ran into the other room quickly, running down the hall and turning left. As I did, a woman at a desk turned around and looked at me, and then she screamed at me, saying “Don’t kill me!”

“Don’t worry! I just need your help.” Not bothering to explain my plan to her, I just took my 9mm, and grabbed her, point the gun to her castle.

I slowly then used the key-card to open the door next to her, walking out. A group of security guards were out-side, pointing their 9mm’s at me and her. “Don’t try anything! I’ll kill her!”
I slowly walked backwards, to the elevator that was shortly down the hall. I pressed the elevator, it opened and I walked into it, with her in my arms.

After the elevator closed, I let go of her. “I’m sorry, that’s why I needed your help.” She didn’t respond…

When the elevator doors opened, I realized that I was on the 3rd floor. Not bothering to go down, having to face those guards, I just ran out and down the hall. I got to the end, there were some stair and to the left, a fire exit. I took the exit, running down it, and outside into an ally. I had to go down, so I used the stairs on the ramp. I jumped down the stairs, and then down a ladder.

I was now in the ally, and I ran through it, but then, a car just pulled up, stopped and then a man walked out. “Freeze right there, FBI!” The guy was old, with white hair and gloves on. I stood there, putting my hands up in the air.
